General Educational Requirements and Professional Conditions for Nurses in the United Kingdom.
To work in the UK as a registered nurse, you will need to register with the Nursing and Midwife Council (formerly the United Kingdom Central Council for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting - UKCC).
In order to work as a nurse in the UK, an overseas-trained nurse needs to:
» be able to speak English to a specified standard (e.g. IELTS or TOEFL)
» get a decision letter from The Nursing and Midwife Council (NMC)
» obtain an appropriate work permit for the UK
» obtain appropriate visas for entry to the UK
» have an offer of work in the UK
Salaries for Nurses
Staff Nurses (all grades) London allowance is £3,000 - 4,000 per annum in addition to the salary shown in the grades on the right Salaries by Grade

F 22,956 - 27,865

The NHS Hospitals have a fixed rate of pay across the country. The pay is determined by your "grade" and how many years you have been in that particular grade. Going from the low to the highest Grade takes four years
